I have been working in the dog training world for over 15 years. I have handled all different temperaments, sizes, breeds and ages. My passion started with my first dog Chloe. I was told she was going to have to be euthanized due to fear aggression... she was only 4 months old. Everything changed for me at that moment. I ended up taking her to one of the largest dog training facilities in NJ. I worked with her day in and day out getting her to become okay with the world. I quickly realized this was a passion of mine and became lead dog trainer at that facility. Chloe became my demo dog and helped numerous dogs and people during our time there. It was an amazing learning experience for me and I worked with many different temperaments and behaviors. I was blessed to meet so many people in the dog world which increased my knowledge in canine behavior. I continued my education by going to many seminars and training facilities owned by successful, well known trainers from different states. I have been running group classes, working board and trains and doing private lessons for the last 15 years. This has given me ability to read the dogs and see what is really going on. Is your dog not listening because it’s stubborn, in pain, not understanding, or maybe just being pushed too hard? The most common line I hear, “my dog is just stubborn” and most of the time this is not the case. Is your dog being reactive on a leash because it is truly aggressive or maybe it’s just nervous and fearful?
To me this isn’t a job, it’s a mission. It never gets old seeing the excitement on an owners face as a dog successfully does something after struggling for so long. It never gets old watching a dog who was afraid of life run around without a worry in the world. It never gets old watching the bond grow between a dog and its owner. Still after 15 years I can feel it.
